Scott's Helping Hands
Every Parent’s Nightmare
In July 2007, I lost my son Scott, age 18, to "Cheese." Scott had only recently experimented with this killer. The officer who investigated my son’s death explained that cheese was the new face of heroin - inexpensive and readily available to young people.
After Scott's death, I received calls and letters from other parents asking about cheese and asking for help! In my personal search for answers, I discovered there was an overwhelming need for a private, trusting organization equipped to meet the needs of families experiencing the heart break caused by illicit drug use. Our organization, Scott's Helping Hands was formed to help families avoid my heartbreak and to help our community address the very real problems associated with drug use.
